If you know you’re going to be in a car or plane for a long time on the way to your destination, pack healthy snacks or map out healthy restaurants you want to stop at. The last thing you want to do is to be hungry on your drive and have your only option be fast food.
#2. If there aren’t healthy food options near you, bring your ownGo to the grocery store or bring a cooler with food already packed to make healthy eating easier. That way you have healthy meal options in case you can’t find any options near your vacation spot.
#3. Stay hydratedAfter being in the sun all day, doing activities you aren’t normally doing, or drinking alcohol, you need to be intentional about drinking plenty of water. Dr. Ryan suggests drinking half your body weight in oz.
#4. Be a good role model for your childrenWhether you realize it or not, your children mimic a lot of your behaviors. Be mindful of your actions so you can be the best version of yourself for your kids.
#5. Be aware of people’s needs and desiresIf you’re traveling with another family/individual with food allergies for example, be accommodating.
#6. Plan for the unexpectedTraveling and being in a new environment may bring challenges such as sickness, or allergies. Be sure to pack supplements to prevent and maintain your health if you do happen to get sick.
